Name: Julie Gamull

Tell us about yourself. Where are you from and how did you get here? Born and raised in Atlanta (I LOVE my hometown!) The only other place I lived was Nashville, TN for about 2 years. I missed my Atlanta roots so much, I left my job and moved back.

How long have you been a member at The Garage? June 16, 2016

How did you find The Garage? My brother who doesn’t even live here!

What do you like about working out at The Garage? All the hard-working, helpful people I’ve met, variety of workouts, and loud music!

What do you do for a living? Keep 4 little people alive (and loved) who call me “mom”.

What are your hobbies and interests? CrossFit, eating, napping/sleeping, shopping, learning about others either by reading or documentaries.

What is something interesting about you most people don’t know? Though my entire family is Hungarian (refugees from the 1956 revolution), I can barely hold a conversation in the language. But I CAN cook like my mother and grandmothers and usually all from the top of my head.

Favorite food(s)? Anything I don’t have to prepare myself.

Favorite music to workout to? Hip Hop / Rap

Favorite WOD, lift or skill? Anything with squats.

WOD, lift or skill you never ever want to do again? Double unders

What’s your proudest CrossFit achievement to date? Walking in the Garage doors and finally DOING this sport I wanted to try for several years.

What’s on your bucket list? Or what are some goals you are trying to accomplish? (either at the gym or otherwise)
Goals: Gym – String together butterfly pull-ups, perform DUs consistently, climb a rope efficiently.
Otherwise – continue to try things that I’m afraid of. And get more tattoos.

Anything else you want to include? Been in remission from Crohn’s disease for 10 years. Recovered from eating disorders for 9 years.

If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Princess Diana. Ever since I read her biography when I was 14, I’ve always admired her honesty and compassionate nature.

If you were trapped on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you? A machete, the Bible, a Wet Brush.
