Why?

The 200m interval is actually a great distance for a lot of reasons — for one thing everyone from beginners to the most advanced runners can get and keep their speed up for 200 meters. The bursts of speed you perform during interval training help to get you into better cardiovascular shape. When your aerobic capacity improves, you will be able to work out for a longer period of time without getting tired.
